Yeah, would be nice to have some competition, though. :o Updated first post with all the current routes. Also, it seems you only need 25k shop points for Holy Claymore. |

how do shop points work again? and what exactly do you have to buy for Magical Tickets and Holy Claymore to show up? |

From the GameFAQs inventory guide: Quote: Certain items don't show up in Vincent's shop until you do a certain amount of
buying and selling in your game. You can check your current point total by pressing R at the main shop screen (Buy/Sell/Item Display). For every purchase you make at any shop, you earn 10% of the purchase price in shop points. Sales, however, yield varying amounts of points depending on the mode in which the sale takes place: 100% over Wi-Fi, 50% over Wireless, and none using Vincent's shop. The following items are unlocked by earning shop points: 1,000 - Powdered Milk 2,000 - Miko Dress 3,000 - Silk Negligee 5,000 - Feather Gear 10,000 - Paludamentum 20,000 - Spiked Mail 25,000 - Magical Ticket 30,000 - Holy Claymore 50,000 - Record 5 Note that this information comes directly from Konami's Hints page and has not been thoroughly tested. The page, in its original Japanese, can be found here: http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/dracula_ds ... index.html I guess it's 20k for Magical Tickets and 25k for Holy Claymore, but since the ingame timer stops on Wind's quest screen and Vincent's shop screen, you really only have to worry about how many trips between Wind and Vincent you need. 5 x 9 Blessed Rings gets you 562500 gold, which should be enough to buy all the stuff you need. I don't think four trips would be enough, but I haven't bothered to look into that. To get your 25k shop points, just buy all the stuff on the list and then a Master Ring, or Feather Gear, or Spiked Mails ... there's enough stuff to choose from, just don't forget to sell it back to Vincent. |

Jesus Christ man... i wasn't exactly sure if the Holy Claymore would be worth it. but if time doesn't go by during the shop and quest screens, then that pretty much solidifies it. adding on top of that quicker Legion and Stella fights, wow. you're skipping Taunt? honestly, i found using Sanctuary hard even with that. i don't know how i'd ever be able to pull that off. ::edit:: nevermind, i see how it works. doing a runthrough of the route. not going for perfection. 36:47 after purifying the Sisters. |

Go into the Sisters fight with Jon, and press R immediately to start charging Sanctuary. If the first attack is the giant hovering ice block Stella shatters with her sword, just let it push you around for a bit (it doesn't cancel Sanctuary), then slide under it to the left shortly before Stella does her move, with Charlotte on the right edge of the screen. She shouldn't get hit by the ice shards and Sanctuary will kick in shortly afterwards. If you jump when the shards fly around, you can get away with no damage, too. If the first attack is the moving icicle-dropping thingy, just keep walking under it and dodge the ice. It works with the near-instant kill ice sword attack, too, but that's kinda tricky. It's all about positioning Jon correctly. |

what is Gale Force for? also, how frequently do you save? i've been saving whenever it was one or two blocks off the path. i last saved before Werewolf with less than 55 minutes. i think most of the difference was from getting lost. it has been a while. finally, it would be better to do 13th Street before Burnt Paradise. though minor, it takes less time to enter the portraits in that order than otherwise. |

Gale Force is for nothing, unless you find a use for it, but it takes no time to get - avoiding it would probably be slower. It's mainly a leftover from earlier routes, and I didn't see a reason to remove it. I use Raging Fire on the Bone Pillars below the Strength Glove, for example. Best save points are probably next to Vincent before CoH, before Dullahan, before Sandy Grave partner jump shortcut, Vincent after getting Holy Claymore etc., before Legion, Vincent before Eric / Stella's Locket cutscene, center save of FoD, Vincent after Frog Morph, Vincent after Sanctuary, before Death, before Sisters, next to Griffon Wing, before The Creature (a bit out of the way, but that boss fight is pretty random), eastern Burnt Paradise save, and before Werewolf. A serious run should certainly skip many of these, since you'll have plenty of potions and opportunity to restock after every Magical Ticket. As for 13th Street before Burnt Paradise, yeah, it's been like that until the current route, actually, but Werewolf -> Brauner -> Drac is a lot better than Medusa -> Brauner -> Drac. Werewolf isn't random at all, and his save point is right next to him, but Medusa needs to do the tail-through-floor move twice in a row for an *ideal* fight, which is frustrating enough to manipulate, since you shouldn't use the save to the right of her room - fighting Brauner (even more random, gotta hope for few flying portrait moves) immediately afterwards without saving would be a major pain - not to mention there are two more bosses after him. |

not until direct capture equipment becomes available to the public. using a camera is stressful on the back, and my computer can't run DS emulators properly. |

The only possible improvements I can think of now would be getting 10k gold before CoH to master Dart immediately for a quicker Astarte fight (unlikely), a few minor suspend spots, such as after getting Mercury Boots (if you find a quick way to kill the Malphas), and small suspend glitch spots for the SG routes, so, unless someone comes up with more major changes, the routes are ready for the site. |

i've been looking into mastering dart before Astarte. doesn't look to be possible without backtracking to CoH for the Ground Meat quest. if it's any consolation, you can master dart on Astarte. you can get $4000 by selling everything the game gives you initially, the Head Guard, the Clover Tiara, and the Moonwalkers, and also getting the $1000 in front of a save point in CoH. that's 100SP right there. Dullahan gives 40, Astarte gives 50. so if you kill 10 enemies before Astarte with dart, you'll have 200 exactly after the fight. one thing i'll mention about the route. you don't get Raging Fire until you do the first partner jump glitch. i get it when i first see it because bdc-ing it makes quick work of skeletons in the way. especially when getting Summon Skeleton. it's good to use throughout the game mostly. i'm guessing you just take damage though enemies? and i'd personally backtrack for a save after Brauner. save some sanity. |

Much is happen since my last visit. Congrats Serris your amazing WR run. 49 minutes sounds like very good. I remember old WR in last year was 1.08 and this as well sounds good. My own speedrun was 1h 13 but i never trying improve that. This is awesome. |

The run wasn't optimized at all, it's all thanks to the new route. Holy Claymore route doesn't work with the EU version, but there are other small improvements, and you can just follow the old VK route if you want to do some runs. It would be quite interesting to see how low you can get with the EU version. |
