i'm getting suspicious about some things in PoR's story. namely, Jon's backstory. according to wikipedia:

Quote:
Jonathan was a child during the events of Castlevania: Bloodlines and before that received basic training from his father John Morris.

I don't remember reading this in the game, but i haven't read the game's story since i first played it. for now, i'm calling bullshit. but that does bring up something else.

if Jon is 18 in PoR, which again i don't remember reading in game, that'd mean he was born in 1926, nine years after Bloodlines. i also don't think Johnny would have lived that long after he beat Dracula.

the only possible explinations are that Bloodlines spanned many years, which is kinda silly, or Jon is much older than he looks.

so did Konami goof up?

The second part's problem is based on the first part, or am I missing something? Jonathan is 18, so he was born in 1926, 12 (Bloodlines takes place in 1914, iIrc) years after Bloodlines. If the statement about Jonathan being a child during Bloodlines is BS, I don't see a problem.

Bloodlines was in 1917.

just forget thw wikipedia quote now. its just throwing a wrench into this.

the thing is that Johnny supposedly died shortly after he killed Dracula. well how is nine years and having and raising a son "shortly after?" they make it sound like he died a few minutes after killing Dracula.

Well, CV spans over several hundred years, so "short" is relative, I guess.

I keep confusing John / Jonathan ... @_@

i think that john lived a few years after he beat dracula which would make sense according to the game but i think konami may have messed up by a few years still

Wind said something about John's wounds taking very long time to heal and how it took them some time to figure out what was the reason of that, so it's not like he died right after beating Drac.

guess i jumped the gun a little with this. but it is weird that it took John more than 9 years to die.
