Well, unless the world falls apart, the other is a DS game. Given the fact that there will be no connectivity feature between PS3 and DS, I'm starting to think that they are simply using the same story for both games and that there is nothing special to it like the stuff you guys suggested.

show me some real proof IGN.

Uhm...the PS3 CV game has been on IGN's site since 2005. Hell, every single link that "confirms" PS3 CV is dated, as they are all existing prior to E3 06.

Hmm it's a hard decision now though. Whether to take the update down or not.

If I take it down, the PS3 update will come sooner or later which will be the same thing, just with my proof.

If I leave it up, then people will complain about IGN and so on.

I put the update up since I've already been comfirmed on the 2 consoles the games will be on. One of them is the PS3, which once I saw at least some other places stating the same thing I know, I would post it up.

I'm 85% sure it's on the PS3 and -can't say the other-.

Oh well, thanks for the heads up though, I'll make sure I get more evidence before I post news up (dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing to you guys).

EDIT: Decided to take the update down.

You must be joking...it's honestly the damned PS3?

I know the DS is a given, but I'd at least expect the PS2 or Wii. The PS3? Here comes a commercial failure.

Like I said, 85%.

As much as people hate the PS3 (mainly for the price?), it still makes some sense. There's been 2 CV games on PS1 and 2, nothing that odd about continuing it on 3.

Even if it isn't for PS3, there will still be a new CV game for the PS3 sooner or later.

I'm guessing people hate PS3 because of the lack of interesting games and the price? Well if the price dropped and there was a CV game for it, it'll make no difference from a PS2.

My only concern is the price, which in my opinion isn't worth it for a gaming console.

IGA is making 2 games, so it's not like his new games will 100% fail. PS3 may fail but there's still the other console.

The big problem I see with it is the fact IGA can't make tremendous 3D games. Added the fact Konami seems to budget everything that isn't Kojima, the increase of money needed for a next-gen game, the bigger risk of failure, I personally feel that if the game isn't DMC in it's entirety, this could pretty much shut the series down the scale big time.

Yeah, true.

IMO IGA should avoid next gen consoles until more games are released and stick to consoles like PS2. He's pretty much taking the risk.

That or he has some killer idea and execution that will rival DMC4. Because honestly, if it doesn't surpass DMC4 in any level, I doubt anyone would buy it. They would get the best monster/demon killing game.

True that. :o

If it's going to be his usual work just with better graphics, then DMC will eat it alive. Hope he thinks of some new CV system for his 3d games. The current 3d games is too much of a DMC/CL rip off.

Then again, what was the game DMC compared to as a good iteration of taking fantastic 2D into the 3D sphere? Castlevania.

I hope he at least tries to release it multi-console, that way, it covers sales a bit better, would cover more a american demographic as the 360 is completely dominant there, and the ilk.

While the PS3 isn't a peice of ass, I don't wanna buy it for just DMC4, Castlevania, and Metal Gear. It needs like, 15 games I would like.

As for Julius they'd have to draw new sprites, so they might as well do him in 3d anyway. :o
or not use him...

Yeah, well he is the one who destroys Dracula in 1999. He will be the hero in at least one of them, that's given. :P

what they should do, is release one of the two on Xbox360, even as a Live Arcade game if they have to.

console doesnt = game has to be 3-D.

but Konami is getting paranoid about what sells and what doesn't sell on a console. SOTN proven that even in the 3-D era, great 2-D games and 2-D perspectives are still very popular on consoles.

I enjoyed LOI and especially COD, but I still agree that CV is most fun in pure 2-D or at least a 2-D perspective like Viewtiful Joe and Valkyrie Profile 2.

so they musn't screw this up.

as for me I'm not against sprite recycling at all. I appreciate legends like Maria and Richter being playable again on PoR and how the returning enemies have the same sprites and still look great.
so the 1999 games can use the same sprites and new backgrounds and it'll still be awesome with the right approach.

but yeah the PoR style co-op is something they should go further with in future Castlevanias this time available outside of boss rush, with still the option to solo if people feel like it.

I really think they should go all out with these 1999 games, like include as many playable characters from the past as possible for extra fun ways to play so it feels like a Reunion and stuff. cause I think more unlockable/playable characters makes games more fun and fresh. just imagine if these 1999 games include Alucard, Julius, Grant, Sypha, Trevor, Simon, Leon, Rondo Maria, SOTN Maria, SOTN Richter, etc. etc. etc. fans of each would be overjoyed beyond words. ^_^

but yeah Im concerned what decisions and designs they'll decide for these two games. I dont agree with PS3 but PS3 will be worthwhile once the price drops to a reasonable amount, but in my opinion, Xbox360 gave me a better impression of gaming, online features and fun titles at a reasonable price. plus with SOTN being released for Live Arcade, that's making things even more awesome to own such a great system with a healthy dose of great titles being released for it. SOTN on Live will definitely bring in new fans and spread the CV love, while also making the veterans happy with a polished version of a masterpiece.

but the PS3 is still too young and Wii is too ridiculous to even mention.

and personally Im sick of CV games being released on portables. they are capable of so much more just as SOTN has set an example. Im not just talking graphically, but you can compare SOTN with its younger siblings and the whole atmosphere and everything about SOTN isn't topped yet.
(though PoR does have some great new things like the co-op team aspect, and more playable classic and new favorite characters that make me drool with envy. (Rondo Maria!)

but yeah Im kinda done ranting lol. I hope they make the right decisions to keep 'everyone' happy. :D

From what I know, IGA doesn't choose whether his games on console is 3D or 2D. I read that there were rules about Sony not allowing 2D games on their home consoles, which is most likely why you barely ever see 2D games on PS2 anymore.

I also agree about CV games on portables. They should give home consoles more love. We've already got a buttload of portable CV games these past years.

As much as I prefer 2D CV more than 3D, CoD got me hooked more longer than games like PoR and DoS. The more portable 2D games that come out, the more it feels bland and repetitive to me. DoS was still interesting enough, PoR was way too recycled.

If one of the new CV games is 3D, then I'll most likely be more interested in that than the 2D counterpart, unless they can make this new 2D game feel fresh enough.

There is still one portable I would like to see a CV game on, and that's the PSP *dodges people throwing tomatoes*. Simply because it has the power.

If the two main characters is Julius and Alucard, I would want to see Alucard in 3D. :D I'm afraid if Julius went 3D, he would be too similiar to Leon and Trevor.
