i need some opinions here. i completed a pretty solid SS run of SotN last night. 37:48 from gaining control of Richter to the final hit. however, it took a little over 2 minutes to get the Crissaegrim. that's 48 Schmoos. should i submit it to SDA with knowledge that it can be improved with better luck? i'm torn because the execution was pretty damn good for the most part; only minor mistakes.

either way, i will submit it here. only thing is i can't capture the video myself.

Submit it to SDA, then do a new run in two segments where you save once before the Crissaegrim. Don't go insane over something you cannot control.

48 Schmoos is actually pretty good considering how bad the drops are in early Castleroids. And since it's a SS run, everything IS dependant on luck which is why multi seg runs exist. I'm sure everyone will understand why you spend 2 mins killing the same thing over and over instead of saving and trying, basically because it's a SS run.

Very good time for a SS I might add. :)

If you want a run with perfect execution and fast Crissaegrim, might as well do a multi seg run. No need to burn yourself over on a SS like Serris said.

to be honest, my only real goal was to obsolete Lucid's run. he decided not to use Shield Rod combos or Crissaegrim in his 43:51 i don't blame him on Criss, but Iron Shield Combo is probably the best weapon available in a run like this. with all the route testing he did, i'm still baffled why he would not go with this method.

i tried a multiseg run before. saving actually costs time in SotN, because the load screen that occurs after selecting the file is timed for some oddball reason. timing the whole thing manually would yield an even worse time.

2seg is a possibility. i had considered it before doing this run. but i decided i wanted to obsolete Lucid's run before anything else. but i won't be doing a 2seg for a long time. next runs i do will (hopefully) be PSP runs.
