So, who's looking forward to it? I don't have a PSP, so I can't play it. :(

i'm as giddy as a schoolgirl. from what i've seen, i am not disappointed in the least. additions of boss rush and a retooled Stage 5' are more than enough to warrant getting this game. but tack on the original Rondo, SotN, and most likely the SNES port, this game is a steal.

October is so close, yet so far away.

it looks great from what i've seen, not enough to warrant me getting a psp though... :?

Ya, paying like 300 (is it?) for a PSP AND a game isn't worth it.

I got a PSP, but I'm not exactly very excited about it. More like I can wait until it's out.

Main thing I'm worried about is how much replay value it's gonna have. Not much of a yearly CV if you can do everything in the main game in like 30 mins. Not even sure how much new content is added to SotN.

P.S. Welcome to the forums redrum! :)

PSPs are only $170 now in the states. games are $30-40. not sure about memory cards.

buying a system just for one game depends on how big a fan you are, i'd say. if i did not get a PSP for the Mega Man remakes, i would have got it for this alone. its 4 games in one. its a fans dream come true. then again, you don't see me getting a 360 for Dead Rising or a PS3 for Little Big Planet.

well i wouldn't mind having darkstalkers: chaos tower either, but i digress...

if this release manages to be the success konami is hoping it to be, sony is gonna owe them BIG for psp sales. which makes me think if that were the case, then more of the future CV's would be on sony products :( PS3 :(

from what a friend told me, that game is a big no-no. the PSP dpad is horrible for fighting games, and Chaos Tower has no analog control. unless you're a diehard fan who ants every single game, stay away.

Only way to play fighting games on a PSP is to mod your PSP's dpad, which I did. Works like a charm. I'm 90% satisfied with it, the other 10% is because Sony should've fixed it from the start. PSP's main problem with the dpad is pressing diagonal. Barely ever comes out. I was pulling my hair trying to get diagonal inputs to work, and that was only for an RPG. Expect flying PSPs out the window if you decide to play fighting games without modding the dpad. :P

My only problem right now is trying to improve that shitty square button.

only fighting game i have on PSP is Guilty Gear Judgment. (jap version w/ GGXX/) it has a shortcut feature where for instance if you press down, forward, it reads as qcf. nifty.

Even if you buy a PSP just for this game and regret it, there's always bound to be other interesting games in the future (or even now). It's almost the same as buying it now or two years later, unless you are very sure there's nothing about the PSP that will interest you.

The only gaming machines I bought for a specific game was the DS for DoS and a GC for Bio Hazard remake. I pretty much forgot about DoS since there's so many other interesting DS games out there. As for GC, I did regret buying it, but being able to buy other interesting GC games made up for it.

So yeah, maybe think of all the options about getting a PSP (games/movies/music/emu/etc) instead of just thinking that you'll be stuck with just X Chronicles? I don't know the price of a PSP where you live at so that might be a problem if it's too expensive.
