So, I finally got DXC. :D Played up to 97% in a few hours and now I'm stuck at Full Boss Rush because I suck at Drac's 3rd form. And you can't pause. :(

As for SotN, are there any route changes compared to Satoryu's latest PSX run?

well, you keep the Alucard equipment, so there's no need to buy the Iron Shield. instead, you'd buy 1 or 2 more Mana Prisms. and getting Power and Skill of Wolf are unnecessary, thanks to being able to Library Card out of the Richter fight. aside from those, it's identical.

i'll update the Wiki with this info one of these days, i promise.

How does the LC warp work exactly? If I just Alucard Shield him to death, skip the dialogue and use the LC, I get the warp animation, the screen goes white and the ending plays.

Normaly the screen goes white and you reaper in library

The timing is very tight to start the LC, you need to have it equiped before you deliver the fatal blow and trigger it asap

Hum, im not realy sure whats your route plan, but skiping richter with all wolf relics wouldnt be faster than using that old lib card trick ?

Youll preferably use Edge Travel rather than the 5(4 on psp?) relics to access dracula

Notice also, on psp you should be able to skip completly shaft like on first jap psx version

Would it be easier if I delay-killed him (Tetra Spirit for final blow and LC before he actually dies or something like that)?

Well, I never tried it with 4. Which one do you think is skippable?

As for Wolf Relics vs LC, no idea. This is my first time even considering running anything SotN, and I'm still not too sure about it since shield dashing is really annoying.

How does the Shaft skip work?

Post subject:  Re: SotN route

The spirit is good idea, its doable with sword too

The relic that was sikpable in the first jap release was death one i think

To skip shaft, well, i dont have a alucard laying around, only richter here
youtube.com Video from : youtube.com

With alucard its also doable, trought wingsmash
The bug reside in how your character is falling into the room... somehow trigger kind of ET and you can past trought the wall > load dracula
You need to keep facing the same direction when you regain control and go in the wall, if you start to walk backward it will break that weird ET

Got LC warp to work with just the sword. Also, Death's relic skip didn't work.

Edit: Also, I just walked through the warp room door after activating the elevator, mashed X to backdash out again and accidentally mashed a bit too long so I backdashed against the door when I was outside the loading corridor again. I clipped into the door, then clipped through the ledge and dropped right in front of the elevator.

that's not new. i've seen that in quite a few Jap videos.

concerning Library Card vs Wolf Relics, i assume Library Card would be faster because you cover less ground. it's also a bit easier to do consistently. i don't know if you would lose time later on for having full Wolf Dash, but Wingsmashing should work just fine. especially if you can infinite it, which i can't.

Yeah, I barely know anything about SotN, so I'll just post whatever I encounter.

How does infinite Wing Smash work exactly? I think I've already done some extended Wing Smashes by just inputting the exact same command again, but do you still have to hold down X if you're already Wing Smashing or does the directional input suffice? It felt like either would work, but maybe it was just me.

Also, Maria mode. Is there any way to get through the Sniper of Goth / Tiny Devil room consistently without dying? I tried going the other way around, but the Clock Tower room with the flying knights is even worse.

i wouldn't know about infinite wingsmash. i've never done it.

as for that room as Maria, Suzaku helped me out there.

AFAIK, you have to hold the button and do the motion just like how you would do the first one. The main problem is when to actually do it. I just spam the heck out of it and hope it keeps going.

I dont have the time right now to check it, but just open the published tas with pcsx-rr and youll have the answer about multi-wingsmash, just fast forward until he have bat, then watch closely every frame to see if he use X or not, timing ect...

About maria: i guess speed would be your friend, dont even try to fight them just use super jump/air dash
If all else fail i founded the turtle very usefull to recover in between save rooms

Post subject:  Re: SotN route

I don't try to fight them, I just can't do anything about Tiny Devils randomly flying everywhere, stopping me from escaping the Snipers.

Also, I find the Library wolf jump to be really random on PSP. Is there a specific button order to the Wolf -> Mist change? Half the time, it doesn't work.

Author:  arukAdo [ Mon Jun 29, 2009 1:38 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: SotN route

Well, actually you dont realy need the mist for that jump i believe

The timming on the jump is very strict tought, here a suggestion, once the wolf start to run... dont bother holding forward, you should be able to directly press backward, since the wolf get "locked" in forward running on slopes, backward or forward is same then
That should give you some breath on the input

Post subject:  Re: SotN route

jumping as a wolf was never a problem to me. using Mist afterwards was. when i try to press both shoulder buttons at once, i usually end up reverting to human form instead. so i take the slower method of kicking off a book for that extra height.
