DPS: damage per second
Richter Belmont
- Richter's attacks are holy based.
- Richter is strong against holy attacks.
- Richter lost his item crashes.
- Richter moves faster than Maria (only way for Maria to move as fast as Richter is to slide).
- Richter is needed to reach high places since only he has super jump.
- Richter's whip is now longer than his previous versions.
- Richter's slide is now slower than SotN, but his followup is now faster than SotN.
- Richter's backflip is now performed by pressing v + L when jumping.
- Richter's Tackle (^<v> + Y) is still around. Hits twice. If it doesn't kill enemy, will not go through. Uses MP now.
- Richter has a new move called Spinning Kick which is performed by pressing >v<> + Y.
- Richter has a new move called Combo by pressing >v<^> + Y.
Sub Weapons
Knife: Throws 2 knives that does 2 hits. I see absolutely no use of it. Piercing damage.
Axe: Just like Julius in DoS. Hits multiple times. Piercing damage. Doesn't go through thick skinned enemies.
Book: Book that spins in circles on the screen, just like in SotN. Holy attribute.
Holy Water: Does more hits than Julius in DoS (3 hits). Also lasts longer. Holy attribute.
Cross: Nothing new. Holy attribute.
Grand Cross: Does much more hits than Julius in DoS. Just not as damaging. Holy attribute.
Comment: I find Richter almost useless (his Axe is still useful in some cases). He's mainly used to speed around the areas or when you want to play keepaway with his long range. He does become more useful than Maria in games where you die in a couple of hits (Hard Mode lv 1 cap) since he's much more swift than Maria.
Maria Renard
- Maria is strong against holy attacks.
- Maria lost her item crashes.
- Maria regens MP much faster than Richter.
- Maria's slide is as fast as Richter's walking speed.
- Maria's normal attack hit multiple times. Nice DPS but hits a bit upward.
- Maria still has her Guardian Knuckle (^<v> + Y). It lacks the damage and range from RoB but steals HP now.
- Holding up for around 5 seconds will make Maria perform a new pose.
Sub Weapons
Dragon: Basically a wall in front of you that goes through most enemies. Hit multiple times. Can be spammed. Slash damage. Doesn't go through thick skinned enemies. Ice attribute.
Bird: Flies above your head. Works like Richter's axe, just can't do as many hits. Fire attribute.
Cat: Basically works like the student witch soul in AoS and goes through most enemies. Hits multiple times but does more hits than the dragon skill. Can be spammed. Lightning attribute.
Turtle: Lessens damage taken from enemies. Used when you know you won't be fast enough to avoid the attack.
Comment: Her normal attack alone beats Richter by a mile. Her subweapons are also better. With that it's hard to decide if Maria should be put as lead or be backup (spam subweapons). Her sub weapons could've been more polished though. Her dragon and cat skills are very similiar in properties and her bird skill and her normal attack is pretty similiar. Only thing that makes them differ is the element damage. There might be something good about Richter, but at the moment I only use Richter to move around and let Maria kill bosses.
